Dans la nuit du 12 au 13 août, deux agents de la Brigade d’Opérations et d’Intervention Départementales (BOID) ont perdu la vie et trois autres ont été blessés lors d’une mission de sécurisation à Kenscoff. L’annonce a été confirmée ce mercredi par le Haut-Commandement de l’institution dans un communiqué officiel.
Le Commandant en chef de la PNH a salué la mémoire de ces policiers tombés en service et adressé ses condoléances aux familles des victimes. Il a également exprimé son soutien à l’ensemble des policiers et policières qui, chaque jour, s’engagent avec courage pour restaurer la sécurité et la paix sur l’ensemble du territoire. Un prompt rétablissement a été souhaité aux agents blessés.
Malgré ce drame, la PNH assure que son engagement reste intact. L’institution se dit plus déterminée que jamais à neutraliser les malfaiteurs et leurs soutiens, réaffirmant sa volonté de lutter sans relâche contre l’insécurité.
Le Haut-Commandement a par ailleurs indiqué que le Conseil Présidentiel de Transition (CPT) et le Gouvernement travaillent à renforcer les capacités opérationnelles de la PNH en mettant à sa disposition les moyens nécessaires pour affronter les menaces actuelles. Il a invité les policiers à rester unis, vigilants et mobilisés pour déjouer les actions planifiées par les groupes armés, notamment la coalition « Viv Ansanm ».
Enfin, la PNH a lancé un appel à la population afin qu’elle continue de soutenir les forces de l’ordre dans cette lutte difficile pour la défense de l’État de droit.
