The organization «Fanm Angaje» Honors Former Minister Émmelie Prochète Milcé

Each year, March 8th is dedicated to the celebration of International Women's Day worldwide. It is a time for reflection on women's struggles and the evolution of their rights in modern societies. In Haiti, this year, this Sunday, this date was an opportunity for the women's organization «Fanm Angaje» to pay tribute to the writer and former Minister of Culture and Justice, Emmelie Prochète.

Ms. Prophète was honored for her involvement and her role in the fight for the respect of women's rights in the country.

«The organization pays tribute to the former Minister of Justice, Emmelie Prophète Milcé, in recognition of her career and her commitment to public life,» declared Marjory Michel, the main leader of Fanm Angaje, during a sociocultural activity held in Delmas 75.

Established 10 years ago, the FANM ANGAJE Award is given based on the sustained commitment of Haitian women in their respective fields. The dominant criteria are: Being a Woman, engaged in any public or private domain, possessing abilities that highlight women's potential. Among the personalities nominated for this award are: Liliane Pierre Paul, Marie Raphaelle Pierre, Chrisnette Saint-Georges, Sheelove Perrin, Bertinie Cherizard Germain, Lunie Joseph. According to the organization, they excel in diverse fields.

While highlighting the role of women in different sectors of national life, «Fanm Angaje» takes the opportunity to call for the strengthening of public policies in favor of gender equality and women's empowerment, considering that their participation in decision-making processes is an important factor for the country's development.

It should be noted that International Women's Day was marked in Haiti by numerous sociocultural activities, official speeches, political declarations, social media publications, and situational commitments in favor of equality.
