Laurent Saint Presents the Results of His Latest Trip

Returning to the country this Sunday, the President of the Transitional Presidential Council (CPT), Laurent Saint-Cyr, presented the results of his participation in the second Summit on Social Development held in Qatar.

The CPT coordinator indicated that he met with the Qatari Prime Minister, who promised him his country's support for the establishment of the Gang Repression Force (FRG). «Qatar, however, awaits the finalization of the files to determine the nature and extent of its contribution».

President Saint-Cyr also spoke with officials from the Qatar Fund for Development, who announced $40 million in aid for Haiti, of which $10 million will come directly from the Qatari government.

Finally, the CPT president held a meeting with Kenyan President William Ruto regarding the continued presence of Kenyan police officers already in Haiti, pending the deployment of the FRG and the eventual participation of these agents in this new force.
