Is Youry Chevry still the city's first citizen?

Agents from the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police (DCPJ) raided the private residence of the interim agent of the commune of Port-au-Prince, Youry Chevry, very early this Friday, December 12 morning. During the search, a Galil AC22, T4 and AR-15, a drone, a communication radio, and his passport were seized by the agents who were accompanied by the Government Commissioner of Port-au-Prince.

Mr. Chevry was in the house at the time of the operation but was not arrested, a police source told us.

In a reaction to the press after the DCPJ's intervention, the individual concerned criticized the actions of some of the agents present. “They killed my dog,” the mayor denounced. Mr. Youry Chevry also informed that he is summoned to the Port-au-Prince public prosecutor's office next Monday, December 15.
