March 8, 2026: Sandra Paulemon Calls for Strengthening the Role of Women in Haiti's Development

On the occasion of International Women's Day, celebrated on March 8, Haiti's Minister of Planning and External Cooperation, Sandra Paulemon, addressed a message of respect and solidarity to all Haitian women, both in the country and in the diaspora.

Recently appointed to head the ministry, the minister emphasized that this responsibility represents not only personal recognition but also a symbol of the growing role of women in public life and national construction.

In her message, she paid tribute to Haitian women who, despite difficulties, continue to uphold society with courage and determination. She particularly saluted mothers, young girls seeking education, as well as professionals, entrepreneurs, farmers, and activists who contribute daily to the country's development.

The minister also reaffirmed her commitment to promoting inclusive public policies that place gender equality and women's empowerment at the heart of development strategies.

According to her, Haiti's sustainable development cannot be envisioned without the full participation of women in decision-making processes and the country's social transformation.
